Garlic is used in a lot of different recipes. No matter if you buy your garlic fresh at the supermarket or you grow it yourself in the garden, you probably can’t cook without it. To make sure that your garlic is fresh for a longer period of time, it is good to be aware of the best way to store it. The best way to keep your garlic fresh for much longer is to buy a so called garlic jar. These glass jars are especially made for storing garlic and will make sure your garlic doesn’t dry out. What you definitely shouldn’t do, is store your garlic in the fridge. The reason for that, is when garlic is kept in the cold temperatures of the refrigerator it will germinate and go bad much faster. If you don’t have a garlic jar, or don’t have any intentions on purchasing one, you can store the garlic in a cold and dark place such as a pantry, for example next to where you keep your onions.
